In Their Own Words…

A video made by one of our partners, Clean Water Services, about our work at our SOLVE site.

While 8th Graders are Away…

The sixth and seventh graders play!  Every year our 8th graders travel to the Olympic Peninsula for a few days, the 6th and 7th graders made individual kites that were then put together with their group’s to make a bigger kite as a community building activity.  They even got to run down the hallway to fly them.

Students creating kites out of tissue paper, straws, and string.

The rain outside caused us to fly the kites down the hallway. Running with permission in the halls was fun!

Help Support Goals for Girls

Rachel Carson students continue their community service even after leaving Rachel Carson.  A former student of ours, who is currently in high school, is involved with Goals for Girls.  Help us support her continued efforts by purchasing coffee or tea.

Seven local female soccer players (ages 16-18) as representatives of Goals for Girls are traveling to India this winter to work with 120 Indian girls (ages 9-15) from impoverished and leprosy affected communities. The girls will be involved in service projects, soccer and life skills activities that focus on promoting self-esteem, leadership and cooperation in an all female environment.

What is Goals for Girls? Goals for Girls is an international initiative of girls helping girls through the game of soccer. Goals for Girls connects girls from around the world through cultural exchange, service, teamwork, and life skills education. All of which is taught through the game of soccer.

Your purchase of coffee or tea will help change the lives of these young Indian girls.
